A gray Monday morning calls for unicorn nice cream🦄 ➡️ 2 frozen bananas, 2 dates, 1 tbsp of almond butter, and some almond milk blended. Swirled in some @suncorefoods pitaya and butterfly pea powder for color and micros, and topped with a sliced banana and @lilys_sweets_chocolate chocolate chips. Monday mornings don’t have to be terrible when they start like this🙌🏼💕✨.

I have gotten some new followers lately so I am going to introduce myself again (I don't even know if I did it a first time lol)! My name is Summer 🌞, hence the name Summer Set Photography (my sister actually came up with that name). I live in a smaller town in mid Missouri, and I have been married to the love of my life for 4.5 years 💖. We have a house full of dogs 🐶 and I mean BIG dogs, not little ones 😂 . I am a Christian and very active in my church⛪. I went on my first mission trip in October, we are hosting our first small group this semester, and my husband and I serve every chance we get🙏! One of the ways I serve my church is through my photography 📸. . Other random facts about me: my husband and I recently became whole food plant based (similar to vegan) and we feel great! In 1 month I have lost 10 pounds and he has lost 20. 😁 Besides losing weight I'm not as tired as I use to be. We had been leaning towards something like this and then watched the documentary on Netflix called Forks over Knives. It's very interesting! 🍴 . I have had 3 back surgeries and I'm also an occupational therapy assistant. I still do therapy PRN (as needed) which works out great with my photography schedule! 👩‍🎓 . Yay! I did it! AGAIN!! I was trying to talk myself out of it but as the day went on, I decided to go ahead and keep my Fast for 24 hours! There was a time when I let food control me, and now After doing the #Fwtfl with Carol Alford, I have the upper hand! I am Not tying my food intake to my emotions! Where before, I would be the social eater, or the bored eater, or the grazer or the emotional eater, I am now eating the right foods at the right times for the right reasons! It is truly liberating when you conquer the food monster that leads to over eating or even under eating! I a Have also cut dairy🐄, gluten, wheat, and artificial ingredients out of my diet! 😬🙈 I am not one to post pictures of myself. In fact, it makes me quite anxious. But I had two good buddies visit yesterday and one of them posted this photo on their account... and the response from people was heartwarming. “Is that the pie-hole pal?” “She looks strong and healthy.” “I want to look like her.” Etc. I suddenly realized that it may be important for me to show that I practice what I preach. So I’m stepping out from behind the curtain (maybe just this once haha). This is me. I’m 38 and I’ve given birth. I work out sporadically but certainly not regularly. The one constant is that I try to pack as many powerful nutrients in my pie-hole as possible. I have no ailments of which to speak, and I don’t take medications. You see, nutrients heal the body. Put the right ones in there and the outcome is constant health (mentally and physically). You can kiss your ailments goodbye. It’s more than worth it to take the time to understand nutrients and where to find them. If you want to improve your health (of course you do!), then my book will help you understand how (and why!) to do so. And let’s face it, YOU DESERVE IT. 📖🤓 Happy reading!! Can I list cooking brunch as my favourite hobby? It’s honestly a joy for me spend hours in the kitchen concocting a colourful array of sweet and savoury dishes. And then eating it all slowly over good conversation with lovely souls is the icing on the cake! Yesterday’s brunch featured the following: 🍠sweet potato and quinoa patties with mango/avo salsa and lemon/cashew sauce 🥖homemade spelt bread with healthy nutella, raspberry chia jam, herby tomatoes and almond butter 🍓coconut yoghurt with fresh berries and maple/pecan granola 🥗roast pepper hummus with celery sticks 🍪coconut and chocolate chip blondies So happy to have some leftovers in the fridge (not the bloodies - those went FAST) to enjoy over the next few days.
