It's been almost a whole week since I did any kind of workout. It's not been from lack of wanting to, but it's just been a long week full of endless days and roller coaster emotions. I'm thankful my hubby was ok with me slipping away this morning for this short 2 mile run. I remember when I was SO stinking excited to have lost 10 pounds when I stepped on the scale and it said 235.8. It was that point I knew that I was finally doing it- taking care of myself and getting healthy. Today when I step on the scale and I’ve lost 35 pounds to date, my excitement and positive self worth grow even more. I know I am worth the hard work and I will keep plugging along to get to my goals & dreams for myself. I often get asked about how I stay so motivated, but I want to set one thing straight, motivation has nothing to do with it. Motivation is unreliable and not enduring enough to get you to the finish line. Staying consistent is all about your mindset. You have to make achieving your goals non-negotiable. Introducing @judahlogans: I’ve been overweight literally my whole life, tried diets a few times but never stuck with them. In February I wanted to try to take a month off of alcohol and junk food. After a week or two I decided to try keto after hearing about it on JRE and a few other podcasts. I also added in 16:8 intermittent fasting and bumped it up to 18:6 after a week or 2. I lost about 25lbs that month and have stuck with it ever since. Im down 130 pounds now which is a little crazy. Please don’t expect suck rapid results! I was really tight on my calories/macros and I work outside in the Houston heat so I get a lot of sweating in during the week with almost no real workouts. Ive started eating much more recently and am trying to start lifting regularly to try and fill out a little.
