After a good speed endurance workout today, I did a couple of my favorite plyo exercises- Barbell Pogo Jumps and the Elite Splitter Jump. Even though my legs were toasted from the sprinting, I could’ve landed with more upright upper torso posture in the splitter jumps! If you’re an advanced athlete who’s looking to do more functional, yet challenging plyometrics for speed improvements, give these 2 a try! 1. Barbell Pogo Jumps- Keeping the hips and knees locked, be sure to land on the balls of your feet with the foot dorsiflexed. In mid air you should be pulling the toes into dorsiflexion to create stiffness through the ankle/foot. Be BOUNCY, not powerful! 2.
