How would you define a “succesful training week”? - If i would be based on just the “performance standards”, what’s progressive overload, i’d say this week was a “failed” training week. - Why? - I didn’t follow my training plan. On Monday I did my session as prescribed, on Tuesday I had to lower the load on almost everything because i was feeling a bit sick and runned down (lack of sleep in both quality and quantity over the past weeks) - On Wednesday, I trained with Lina, one of the people I coach and because she had a lower body session scheduled and I was supposed to have a Pull Day i decided to let go of my “expectations” and plans and just improvise a workout we could do together for both having fun but train hard too. - On Thursday I had my friend Xaviercillo visiting me at the gym and we crushed another full body session that involved some “calysthenic” movements that i haven’t done in a long time like ring dips and feet elevated inverted rows. Again, so much fun with hard training combine, but nothing according to the plan. - Today, I improvised again. I did squats for second time in the which, something i haven’t done in a year or so. With low load but a range of motion that once i could have only dreamed off. - My success for this week may not be reflected on my lifts going up neither on beating PR’s. - My success was on: - 1. Sharing what I love the most with some of the people I love the most. 2. Being able to “transform” on the go what it seemed to be an unproductive training week into an opportunity to showcase the strength I’ve built over the years doing the same “basic stuff” on random movements. 3. Being adaptable.
