Jeg havde en klient for et par uger siden - en mand i 40’erne i en høj stilling i en stor virksomhed - han bliver ved med at forstyrre mig i mine tanker - han vidste helt præcist godt hvad han skulle spise for at smide nogle kg og alt vi vendte var han på forkant med!! 🤔🤔 jeg vendte sessionen med en samarbejdspartner og han anbefalede mig at have nogle gode fif som kan “toppe”/imponere lidt, så det giver klienten en fornemmelse af at jeg ved hvad jeg snakker om. Ja tænker jeg👍😃 det giver god mening - alligevel her et par dage efter forstyrrer klienten mig sgu stadig 🤩 og jeg elsker det for der er et eller andet jeg skal lære her🧐 det jeg er kommet frem til er at vi altid skal udvikle os og lære nyt og stræbe efter at blive dygtigere, men vi behøver ikke skal opfinde den dybe tallerken hver gang. Når det handler om personlig udvikling og hjælpe et menneske på den rejse så oplever jeg ofte at det største skridt kommer når vi arbejder med roen og det at mærke efter og “kommer hjem” til os selv. Så træffer vi de helt rigtige valg for os selv. Og det var formentlig dét der bliver ved at forstyrre mig med denne mand - at der hele tiden skal bygges på og vi skal hele tiden være bedre - men hold fast det er stressende at være i det flow - så engang imellem skal vi lige huske at stå lidt af og finde lidt ro - det er en god investering. Learning techniques is important, but learning power in random movement is even more so We practice structured techniques (i.e. set combinations) to show how movements could be used, but relying purely on techniques could be a problem in an actual fight. . . Basically techniques are great for testing structure against attacks, working on coordination, and actually seeing how the movements can be used in practical application. So therefore they are important and have their place, but as you advance they become less relevant. . . Ultimately an actual fight won't be a specific set of movements (pretty obvious right). You could attempt to learn hundreds (if not thousands) of techniques in an attempt to cover every possibility. This can be difficult and is also the downfall of many martial artists once they experience the randomness of a real confrontation. . . What we want to learn, as we advance in our training, is to be able to move naturally, and powerfully, no matter what the opponent does or throws at us. All our movements need the structure, and power, to deal with anything. . . Saying 'just don't let that happen', or 'don't let yourself get into that position' is the wrong way to think. Of course you will try to not let the former happen, but you're training should naturally still work in the unfortunate event that it does. . . Learning to create structure, and power, in any movement you may perform is the pinnacle. This is what we want to strive for. That way it doesn't matter what we do, or how we strike, it will have power. I'm not saying we shouldn't look like Wing Chun, the movements we learn are the most efficient, and easiest way to create structure, so they are important. But they don't have to be used in specific combinations, or perfect angles (if the internal structure is good the angle does not matter), just used for whatever part of the flow they adapt to. . . In the end techniques are great, but as you start to learn how structure, and movement, work, then set combinations will become a thing of the past ✊👍
