SBD: Heavy Bench single felt like air today and of course I got called out for sandbagging 🤪 and heavy sumo pulls felt good until my hand ripped apart into a billion pieces. To say Yesterday’s Running Session was tough for me is an understatement! It started with a 5K easy run then followed by a sprint session of 1000m, 100m, 800m, 200m, 600m, 400m. _ Everything in me wanted to stop during those sprints, my legs were burning, my breathing was out of control at times, I felt I didnt have it in me to follow through with what I had set out to do BUT THEN something occurred to me that kept me from quitting on myself. 🔥 _ Those athletes that I look up to like @sarasigmunds they STRUGGLE, heck they struggle far more than I do because of how much they push themselves. They go through the same feelings of pain & discomfort but you know what makes the REAL difference between them & me.. They. Don’t. Q U I T. They push through the pain. They don’t just stop when it gets too hard. They don’t allow themselves to stop. They train their bodies & minds to push through even when the going gets tough. _ Can you say the same? Do you push through when things become challenging? In life or in training. Or do you just give up on the first sign of struggle. You will never grow as a person or an athlete that way! _ Id like to challenge you today to follow through on the things you want to achieve even when the challenges you face seem too hard to overcome. Even when you aren’t seeing immediate results. Even when no one would blame you if you quit. _ For me personally to go further I need to learn to stop quitting on things when it gets too hard, I need to stop avoiding the challenges & rather face them head on. Sprint sessions have always been something that I’ve avoided in the past because they are tough, my lungs and legs always burn & that pain is something Id rather avoid. But NO MORE. I will teach myself to ENDURE. I weigh myself almost every day. This can be a problem for a lot of people and I know it’s not recommended, but I don’t usually get too caught up in it. I just like to monitor my progress closely and see what causes fluctuations etc. Today though, I was annoyed. I had dropped 4lbs the night before, which was some water weight finally coming off after increasing my water intake. I ate well yesterday, and worked out hard, and I was up .4lbs. It’s not a lot, but it *is* disheartening. This post from @lewfitness made me feel way better. I ticked three of the boxes on the right. Rest day is needed for your body to repair itself, and I know in the past I’ve done too much and not seen results *until* rest day. So, the moral of the story is... TRUST 👏🏻 THE 👏🏻 PROCESS 👏🏻. And I do 😎
