Had a lovely morning continuing our recent stint of #parkruntourism this week we chose the absolutely stunning #lydneyparkrun and we all loved it! I usually prefer running on the road but this is a three lap course which takes you along path, grass and trail sections (we even had to jump a log at one point 🤣) you start/finish and run alongside a very pretty lake which is home to lots of geese (including some very cute baby geese 😍). I will definitely go back to this one and recommend it for a visit if you haven’t been yet! Got another steady 8 miles in with @mrspants3 @barts_loves_to_run and Diane along the cycle path when we got back (also lovely to see @runningmajor out on his bike 🙌). All in all a lovely run filled morning in the sunshine with a bunch of lovely people! Does anyone else have intimidation in the gym? • During the first year of getting used to the gym I was so scared to do some exercises!! I remember having anxiety about doing hip thrusts, squats on the smith machine, and even deadlifts. It’s amazing how much confidence and strength I’ve gained over time. Does it look like everyone on the social media posting about exercise loves it? Do you dislike working out? . 🏋🏻‍♀️Well you’re not alone! I don’t like exercise. I find many excuses to do anything else but exercise. I was doing great for two years with regular exercise until I fell off the wagon! A small injury, a couple weeks away, and it was over. 🧘🏻‍♀️Fast forward a few months and my new routine no longer included exercise. It was hard to get back in; to call and restart my gym membership; to find time in the day to do it. This went on for months... but guess what? I did it! . 🤸🏻‍♂️I worked out 4 times this week! And I feel great! I’m proud of myself! I’m human and we all struggle with things trying to keep us from living our best lives. I’m no different than you. It’s no easier for me. You may not see the end of the tunnel because the goal is too out of reach. You may be too busy; Kids, work, travel, injury, money... you name it, we all have an excuse. 🥊Take the first step. ⛹️‍♀️It doesn’t have to be perfect. Just do it. You will hurt. My girls, Destiny & Kelly, getting their bodies summer ready while getting stronger and increasing their endurance. Sometimes working out with a friend/sibling/partner helps you stay consistent.
