Rano Raraku Se localiza en la isla de Pascua (Chile), más específicamente hacia el este, cerca de la costa sur. Este volcán (antiguamente conocido como Maunga Eo) contiene una laguna en su interior. El volcán posee una relevancia histórica para la isla ya que en sus laderas, tanto interiores como exteriores, se tallaban los moáis. El short exterior del volcán presenta un gran número de moáis aún inconclusos, algunos de enormes dimensiones. Ahí se encuentra la estatua más grande de la isla, de veintiún metros de alto, aún no desprendida de la roca base. La actividad de los talladores de moáis llegó hasta la cumbre e incluso a su ladera interior, donde actualmente hay unos cuarenta moáis mirando hacia la laguna. Arepa de chayota Ingredientes (5 raciones): 2 tazas de chayota. 1 taza harina de maíz. 1 Cda. de aceite. 1 sal en poca cantidad. Preparación: corte en trozos la chayota previamente lavada, dejando su concha. En una olla incorpore la Chayota, agregue suficiente agua para cubrirla y deje hervir, hasta ablandar. Retire, escurra y triture para preparar un puré. En un recipiente mezcle el puré con la harina de maíz, añada sal en poca cantidad y un poco de agua si es necesario, divida el puré en cinco porciones iguales, forme bolitas, aplánelas y dele apariencia redonda.
