#NorthwellHealth Annual #Chef Challenge goes to #NorthShoreUniversityHospital. What a tremendous meal they created. Wild Salmon Crudo with watercress Purée, Pickled White Asparagus and foam. #Sous Vide Filet Mignon with a mushroom Demi, trumpet mushrooms, grilled gems. Dessert was Killer. Fallen Forrest - Poached Lady Apple stuffed with a Goat Cheese Mousse, Apple Sauce and Rosemary Shortbread Cookie. Outstanding meal provided by the chefs and Dietitian from NSUH. Dinner at Kevin Gillespie’s Gunshow. Once the traveling bar cart finally made it to us, we got a Seasonal Tonic (asparagus vodka, grapefruit + PPC tonic, how chartreuse, citric, seltzer) and an Absinthe Makes the Heart Grow Fonder (Gin, local Peach, Vadouvan Blanc vermouth, Lemon, absinthe, Meyer vinegar). Then the courses come out dim sum stylie, with the chef who cooks it bringing it to the table. First was a Frito Pie which was difficult to capture via photo, so you might need to use you imagination a bit. It had smoked shiitake, queso and green tomato. Then was the Mahi-mahi, with asparagus, snap pea, deviled egg. Next was a Chilled Vidalia onion soup, a Smoked duck breast with grits, steak tartare, and then we had a couple more cocktails to finish it up.
