I dug around to find some before pictures of my flexibility training to see some of the progress I’ve made in the past year-ish. I knew I made gains, but this really puts it into perspective! Thank you to my awesome flex coaches @jacki.w.k @alockstar @cyr_ious_kate for all the guidance and ass kicking. ❤️👊 It goes without saying that if you have flex goals I’d recommend working with all of them! . Timeline reference for my brain and if you’re curious- . Front right split March 2018- February -2019 I probably could have pushed myself a little more in the before picture, but yeah, it’s come a long way. . Front left split- November 2017- February 2019 My neglected side is catching up! . Chest stand- October 2018- February 2019 😱 It still feels like death and I can only stay half a second but it’s opened up so much! Look at my neck vein working overtime 👀 haha . Shoulder dislocates: hold a bar, broom, towel, or something like that. Put your hands wide to start and GENTLY feel it out. Try to get your arms up and around to the back and then back to the front without bending your elbows or letting one arm lead. As you feel your flexibility improve you can bring your hands closer. This will help you to open your chest in your backbends. If you feel like you just can’t do it DON’T FORCE IT!!!! Do NOT force it. That is all. Don’t force it. • Cow pose: use a towel or a stick and bring one arm up like you’re doing a tricep stretch. Reach your other hand to grab the lower half and walk your hands closer together until eventually you interlace your hands. KEEP YOUR HEAD UP. Don’t let your arms push your head down. Keep your core engage. This is working the itty bitty rotator muscles in your shoulder. Again, be safe, don’t force it, be consistent!! Closing the gap in my back folds and starting to get that chin up. I've hardly trained forearm stands between these two photos, but it's nice to feel the difference from general conditioning in that time. I also had a photographer ask to take my picture while stretching in the airport 🤷
