Exercise: 90/90 . Internal hip rotation. Why is it important? . We hear a lot about external rotation. I’d say most of you have been told at some point when you were squatting; “push your knees out over your toes” . First of all, to clear this up - there is no such thing as the “perfect squat” form, not even in weightlifting - although you will need an ass to grass squat for optimal performance. Everyone’s measurements and proportions are different so take your time to find YOUR ideal form/position . In saying that; it is extremely important that the hip joints function well! If internal rotation is limited, the external rotators are dominating which creates an imbalance which will lock up your hip joint when essentially makes it difficult for your hip to find full flexion (get to the bottom of your squat position) which can be why the lower back starts to round, or a pinching feeling occurs or pain in general . The hip C.A.R is a great exercise for strengthening and improving internal hip rotation. Give it a try . Leave a comment down below if you have any questions 👇🏻
