With true baby led weaning, a baby controls his or her own intake of food, and ALWAYS feeds themselves. There's a common misconception that giving a baby some finger food as well as spoon feeding them yourselves is BLW, but this isn't the case. There isn't "a bit of both", the idea of baby led weaning is that you TRUST your baby to not only feed themselves, but to also know when they've had enough..by spoon feeding them you're controlling the amount that they have. It's fine in BLW to give her a pre loaded spoon. It's okay to feed your baby this way with "a bit of both", but it's not a baby led approach. Hoy despues de la cita al doctor de Alex. Nos enteramos que por fin paso los tan largos 8kg que estuvo estancado desde los 7 meses 😫. Bebito peso 9.510kg. Me siento tan feliz por que en realidad tuve mucha paciencia pues Alex no era real amigo de la alimentación complementaria. Se aferraba a la tete y la prefería. Cannellini beans (otherwise known as white kidney beans) have loads of nutritional benefits: fibre (bowel regularity), folate (red blood cell growth & brain health), iron, protein and magnesium. Beans can be tricky for some bubs to digest (they may experience flatulence and indigestion as they are high protein) so start slowly and with small portions. Try starting with lentils first as they are smaller and easy to digest. Once bub is comfortable with lentils move to other beans ie red or black beans however mash them slightly for easy eating until bub builds their confidence (and yours)! Bubs Baked Beans 1 small brown onion, chopped finely 1 clove garlic, minced Splash of olive oil 1/2 cup bone broth / stock 2 small carrots, peeled and grated 1 zucchini, grated 400g tin chopped tomatoes 400g (tin) OR 3/4 cup (dried) cannellini beans, soaked overnight & drained (see cooking directions below) **one cup of dried beans equals 3 cups cooked beans, drained** 1 tablespoon dijon mustard How: 1. Sauté onion & garlic (3-4 min) then add grated zucchini & carrot in pan with olive oil until soft (3 mins) 2. Add cannellini beans (if tinned), add dijon mustard and saute for 1 minute. ****To cook dried beans, use 3 cups of water per 1 cup of beans that have been soaked. If the beans have not been soaked, use 4-5 cups of water. Bring beans and water to a boil in a pot, cover and simmer until the beans are tender. Be sure to check on the water level and never let the water level get below the beans. Drain. 3. Add in the canned tomatoes and stock -simmer until beans are soft. The beans are done when they are easily squished between your thumb an finger, using very light pressure. If bubs dont have teeth think of the pressure they would need to apply to ‘gum it down’. 4. Cool down before serving. I actually made zucchini slice at the same time as this recipe with the same veggie mix (carrot/onion/zucchini/garlic) - stay tuned for the recipe 🙌
