⭐Negative splits, mind training and fat adapted running food⭐ I switched up my 8km tempo run for a negative split run today. This is where you run the second half of a run faster than the first half. Training negative means that instead of starting your fartlek or interval sessions at the pace you want to average, run the first portion of the workout 10 to 15 seconds per km slower. This does two things. It trains your body to speed up while conserving energy at the start. AND it builds mental toughness and discipline where you teach your mind to push yourself in later portions of a race and stay slow at the start. You have to train negative if you plan to race negative. A note on my nutrition. I eat 20g carb per day and no sugar. That breakfast bowl contains 8g carb, 27g fat and 16g protein. Homemade keto granola of nuts, seeds, almond flour and egg then baked. Greek yoghurt. And 10g blueberries. A great boost after a run and before a workout at the gym. I hated not having someone to depend on, or a friend to hang out with.
