Holy crap #comptrainclass 😱😱😱 At first I was going to attempt to convince my team to finish even after the time cap.... then I did some push jerks and thought "nahhhhhh, we good" 🤣🤣 ------------------------- hindsight on this wod: I should have scaled the weight to go a bit faster since the starting 85lbs is pretty heavy for my push jerk. But, in the same breath, I did great with the sets of 5 push jerks and was feeling really strong on the front squats as well. However, both points being made, the intent should have been speed and for the jerks I didnt meet that intent. ---------------------- work with @catalystathletics was so fun today! Not the fact that I'm still avoiding hip extension..... but the depth jumps were a blast! (even being told it was too high for me because I failed 1....... I'm good bro🙄🤣) ------------------------------ been making such an effort to not complain verbally or mentally during wods. I've failed that a couple of times this week but for the majority of the week I've stayed strong and those are the wods that have went the best. Today was a challenge to not complain, but I didn't and even though the wod didn't get any easier I didn't feel defeated immediately. Keys to think about is to combine movements that move your body a long range, don’t burn out one function (push, push, as an example) and use the clock to push yourself. • If you scroll through this feed there are more hotel gyms than I can count. So much goodness today! Great team training session that allowed us to learn about communication and proper pacing! Then a great strength session followed by double DT with dumbells (I used 25lbs each hand) ------------------------ I didnt want to join in on double DT and then decided because I didn't want to, I probably should. I ended up loving the wod! I was able to do every round unbroken with the weight and wished I had 30's as I know 35 would have been too much. ------------------------------ some awesome girl time (minus Felicia 😭) I'm finding this week that I am able to push my intensity if I talk differently to myself. Soooooo Thursday should be a rest day for me, but who can say no to rope climbs!??! 😜 --------------------------- to tuck my legs up further and push away from my feet, but muscle memory and fatigue had me going back to using tons of upper body 🤦‍♀️ ------------------------ the cleans at 115lbs after rope climbs 🤣 Those are heavy for me on there own and today was even heavier. After failing the first lift I just readjusted focus and was able to get through the cleans in 3-3. The 2nd AMRAP the rope climbs got slower and the cleans faster since we dropped 20lbs. ----------------------- here's the thing: Training is up and down. Sideways and flipped. You can do a weight one day and the next it's gone. It happens 🤷‍♀️ we have got to be supportive of ourselves instead of this unrealistic expectation of perfection. Fail. Fail often. Fail beautifully.
